Trump demands Alaska candidate is prosecuted over ‘fake Dan Sullivan’ plot as ‘aggressive criminal investigation’ is launched

Trump demands Alaska candidate is prosecuted over ‘fake Dan Sullivan’ plot as ‘aggressive criminal investigation’ is launched | 28 Oct 2026 | Furious President Trump demanded a criminal investigation to be launched against Democrat Mary Peltola, who is challenging Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan for Alaska’s Senate seat. This follows news Wednesday evening that federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Alaska now are conducting an “aggressive criminal investigation” into how a second candidate also named Dan Sullivan got his name on the ballot, Fox News reported. The Last Frontier’s Senate race, in which Trump-backed incumbent Sullivan is running against Peltola and a name double Dan Sullivan, has become a bizarre battleground for political power. Republicans complain the doppelganger is a liberal plant and have dubbed him “Decoy Dan,” accusing him of trying to take votes away from the incumbent. A new bombshell report from The New York Times has now revealed that their allegations may be true. Talking to reporters Wednesday evening, Trump said Peltola should resign from the race. “To me that’s voter fraud at the highest level,” he said.
