The White House on Tuesday night called for an investigation into the escalator malfunction, which occurred on Trump’s way to his speech with first lady Melania Trump, after the Times of London reported Sunday that UN staffers joked that they may switch off the escalator during Trump’s visit. “A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday — Not one, not two, but three very sinister events,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
