Russia strikes ‘missile warehouse’ near Kiev

Russia strikes ‘missile warehouse’ near Kiev | 29 Aug 2026 | The Russian military has carried out a wave of strikes on military-related targets in Kiev and its suburbs, including a facility storing components for Ukraine’s long-range Flamingo cruise missiles, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said. The statement came after a series of powerful secondary explosions tore through a warehouse complex near Kiev on Friday night, with videos circulating on social media showing fireballs flying off for hundreds of meters. The next morning, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the strikes, saying the attack, which involved missiles and drones, hit the Fim Service transport and logistics center in the Kiev suburb of Chaiky. The facility was used for storing Flamingo missiles, it added.
