Clinton Judge Dismisses Comey, Letitia James Cases – Rules Lindsey Halligan Illegally Appointed

Clinton Judge Dismisses Comey, Letitia James Cases – Rules Lindsey Halligan Illegally Appointed | 24 Nov 2025 | A federal judge on Monday dismissed the criminal cases against James Comey and Letitia James. The case was dismissed without prejudice, which means it is only dismissed temporarily. The Justice Department is expected to immediately appeal. Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, a Clinton appointee, ruled that U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan was invalidly appointed. A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted former FBI Director James Comey in September. He was indicted on two counts — false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding. James Comey filed a motion to dismiss his federal criminal case, claiming “vindictive prosecution.” Comey also challenged the appointment of U.S. Attorney Halligan.
