Justice Cynthia Kern's ruling clearing the way for jury selection to begin next week in the criminal trial, according to The Associated Press. Trump's legal team is trying to postpone its client's trial until after the November presidential election, in which Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee. Trump's lawyers had wanted the trial delayed until a full panel of appellate court judges could hear arguments on lifting or modifying the gag order that bans their client from making public statements about jurors, witnesses and others connected to the hush-money case, the wire service also reports.
