SCOTUS to take up Trump Colorado ballot case --Oral arguments will take place on Feb. 8. | 5 Jan 2024 | The Supreme Court on Friday announced it would hear former President Donald Trump's appeal of a Colorado Supreme Court decision to disqualify him from the ballot under the 14th Amendment. Oral arguments will take place on Feb. 8, the Washington Post reported. In late December, the Colorado Supreme Court determined that Trump was ineligible for the presidency under the "insurrection" provision of the 14th Amendment due to his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Trump's attorneys swiftly vowed to appeal the decision and formally requested the Supreme Court's intervention on Wednesday. The Colorado Republican Party independently appealed the ruling.
