N.Y. Races Called for Democrats, Despite Delay for Westchester Ballots to Be Counted –A day after widespread electronic voting issues, County Board of Elections continues tallying ballots submitted in orange “emergency voting” bags.  | 4 Nov 2026 | Most of the votes cast Tuesday in Westchester County won’t be counted until Wednesday, due to county-wide electronic voting malfunctions on Election Day. But even without Westchester’s totals tallied, major New York state races have already been called in favor of Democrats. At 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, around the same time many of the above races were called, the Westchester County Board of Elections sent a statement, saying the thousands of ballots submitted in orange “emergency voting” bags would begin to be counted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. “The ballot scanner issues experienced across Westchester County today were serious,” the statement said.
