Putin meets Trump envoys at Kremlin | 5 Sep 2026 | Russian President Vladimir Putin has met U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the Kremlin. The pair have arrived in Moscow for talks aimed at settling the Ukraine conflict. Putin has thanked both Witkoff and Kushner, stressing that Trump is continuing his efforts to contribute to the resolution of the Ukraine conflict. The Russian president added that “contacts of this kind are always beneficial.” In turn, the U.S. envoys thanked Putin for the meeting and especially for his decision to order a three-day hiatus in strikes on Kiev. The envoys were greeted at Vnukovo airport earlier in the day by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s investment envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, who previously held several rounds of talks with both Witkoff and Kushner in Russia and the U.S.
