GOP governors (but not Scott) reject WHO health policy grab | 5 Sept 2024 | Republican governors joined together August 29 to state that they will not comply with the World Health Organization's attempt at one world control over health policy. "Under the proposed amendments and treaty, the WHO's Director-General would supposedly gain unilateral power to declare a 'public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC)' in member nations, extending beyond pandemics to include a range of perceived emergencies," a letter published by Republican Governor's Association said. Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R-RINO) was not among the 26 Republican governors who released a joint statement, stating: "The World Health Organization is attempting one world control over health policy with their new 'Pandemic Agreement.' Twenty-four Republican Governors expressed concern over this development in a joint letter in May 2024. Put simply, Republican Governors will not comply."
