House Judiciary Committee sues to compel DOJ attorneys to testify about Hunter Biden tax case | 21 March 2024 | The House Judiciary Committee led by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on Thursday sued in federal court to compel two Justice Department Tax Division officials to testifying about the wide-ranging investigation into Hunter Biden. The 59-page lawsuit seeks to enforce congressional subpoenas for the testimony of Mark Daly and Jack Morgan that were previously issued as part of the committee's investigation of allegations that Hunter Biden received favorable treatment from prosecutors during its investigation into the first son's tax crimes. Some of the allegations were brought to the House Ways and Means Committee last year by two IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler. [The complaint can be read here.]
