About 1.2 million metric tons of water was used to cool down fuel rods at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that occurred in March 2011. The water will initially be released in smaller portions and with extra checks, with the first discharge totaling 7,800 cubic meters over about 17 days starting Thursday, TEPCO has said. That water will contain about 190 becquerels of tritium per liter, below the World Health [sic] Organization drinking water limit of 10,000 becquerels per liter, according to TEPCO. A becquerel is a unit of radioactivity.

YouTube to Censor Content Contradicting WHO Guidelines | 17 Aug 2023 | YouTube has introduced a new "medical misinformation policy" that will censor any medical or health-related content that doesn't align with claims made by the World Health Organization (WHO). YouTube earlier had a "COVID-19 Misinformation Policy" webpage that stated that the platform doesn't allow any content that "poses a serious risk of egregious harm” and spreads "medical misinformation" contradicting what the WHO or local health authorities (LHA) say about the COVID-19 pandemic. The webpage now redirects to a "medical misinformation policy" page that expands the censorship rule to "specific health conditions and substances" rather than COVID-19 alone. Content that contradicts guidance on treatments, including promoting "specific harmful substances or practices" not approved by authorities or the WHO as safe and effective, also won't be allowed on the platform. Claims that vaccines cause chronic side effects "outside of rare side effects" recognized by health authorities would be deemed as "vaccine misinformation" by YouTube.

The Taliban are viewing international aide as a "revenue stream,” according to the report... The findings come after John Sopko, head of SIGAR, told the House Foreign Affairs Committee in April that he "cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer we are not currently funding the Taliban," and accused the Biden administration of blocking his efforts to find out.

FBI Agent Lied Under Oath About Knowledge of Hunter Biden Laptop - Rep. Jordan | 7 Aug 2023 | FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan made “false statements” under oath about the bureau’s investigation and suppression of Hunter Biden's laptop, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said on Monday. Mr. Chan, a member of the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, was deposed in November 2022 on the FBI's efforts to suppress news of the laptop as it spread across social media just before the 2020 election. According to a transcript of that deposition, the agent testified that he had "no internal knowledge" of the FBI’s investigation of the laptop and only became aware that the agency had the laptop in its possession "when news media outlets posted it, or published it." ...And when asked whether he was aware of any other communications between anyone at Facebook and anyone at the FBI related to the laptop, he replied, "No." But according to Mr. Jordan, internal documents his committee obtained from Facebook show that those statements were "completely false."

David Rody, former head of the Violent Crimes unit in the New York Southern District U.S. Attorney's Office, left private practice to advise Smith in fall 2022, according to Law.com. Before joining Smith's team, Rody donated $2,500 to the Democratic National Committee and $1,000 to Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) in 2022, according to records from the Federal Election Commission. Rody, who left the federal government in 2011 before returning last year, made the bulk of his donations while working in private practice. Other notable donations include $5,600 given to elect Biden in 2020 and $500 to then-candidate Kamala Harris in 2019.

Attorney Stunned After Seeing Trump Indictment, Says Records He Handed Over Are ‘Absolutely Exculpatory' | 6 Aug 2023 | An attorney who was previously on former President Donald Trump’s legal team and is now representing a prominent Trump supporter says special counsel Jack Smith didn’t review important documents in the case before indicting Trump -- and asked his client for them a second time on the day after Trump was indicted. According to CBS News, Timothy C. Parlatore, a former member of Trump's defense team who is currently working as an attorney for former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, said that he submitted "absolutely exculpatory" documents to the special counsel's office and was "stunned" by the Tuesday indictment. Kerik -- who worked alongside former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in the weeks following the 2020 election as Trump’s lawyers mounted legal challenges in several states -- had testified in front of the Democrats’ January 6 committee for eight hours, according to CNN.

The Muskegon Police Department was contacted and asked to investigate. According to the Michigan State Police report, Tom Fabus, Chief of Investigations for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's Office, asked for Michigan State Police assistance with a joint investigation of alleged voter fraud being conducted by the Muskegon Police Department and the AG... Police reported that hundreds of pre-paid cards from "different" companies, along with "dozens of new (burner?) phones" were found in the Southfield raid in Michigan... During their investigation, the police also found partially completed voter registration forms and police found "pelican cases in the room with semi-automatic rifles joined with suppressors and optics and customized pistols." The police report noted: "One case had 4 rifles and 4 pistols."

Mr. Cooper included the caption “What would you do if this was your next-door neighbor?” Mr. Cooper’s X post garnered thousands of replies, including one from an official account for the Missouri Democratic Party, which read "The roof, the roof is on [fire], we don't need no water, let the 'insert your word' burn!" The X post also included the note, "#VoteBlue2024." The post from the Missouri Democratic Party account included fire emojis and appeared to be a reference to the 1984 song "The Roof is on Fire" by Rock Master Scott & the Dynamic Three. The lyrics to the song go, "The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. We don't need no water, let the [expletive] burn."

Against Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, Biden claimed a modest 2-point lead, edging out the GOP's second-place candidate by 36% to 34%. The survey, conducted Aug. 2-7, follows special counsel Jack Smith's indicting Trump on charges related to his efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election results. Doctors' Coalition Sues California Medical Board for Insisting 'White Individuals Are Naturally Racist' | 6 Aug 2023 | Two doctors, one black, and the other an Iranian-American, have sued the Medical Board of California for its requirement forcing a continuation of medical education courses that are focused on "implicit bias." Dr. Marilyn Singleton and Dr. Azadeh Khatibi argued that such a requirement violates their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and civil rights. They said that such a requirement lacks evidence regarding its efficacy in the medical field and that the mandate is considered widely controversial among doctors. Do No Harm, an organization that fights for individual patients and against identity politics, joined the doctors in opposing California's mandate.

HRH titles, which refers to "his/her royal highness," are spoken and written in front of the names of princes and princesses, as well as their spouses. A suspected bike thief in California was seen pausing his alleged crime to pet and cuddle with the victim's golden retriever, surveillance footage of the home shows. "In a rather peculiar turn of events, as the suspect was about to make his escape, he paused to pet the household dog who had entered the garage," the San Diego Police Department posted on its Facebook page... The suspect pulls the bike back into the garage, engages the bike's kickstand and then turns his attention to the friendly dog with pets and belly rubs, the video shows.
