Israeli jets bomb Beirut's southern suburbs - marking third strike on the area since November ceasefire | 27 April 2025 | Israeli jets bombed Beirut's southern suburbs yesterday – marking the third strike on the area since a ceasefire took effect in late November. A huge plume of smoke billowed over buildings after the attack but there were no immediate reports of casualties. An hour before the strike the Israeli military warned it was targeting Hezbollah facilities in the Hadath area and urged residents to move. In a statement afterwards, it said it had targeted a precision-guided missile storage facility. Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun called on the U.S. and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire, to "assume their responsibilities" and pressure Israel to halt its attacks.
