White powder brought to Florida ICE center by Cuban migrant causes guard to fall ill, forces building evacuation | 20 Feb 2025 | A suspicious package brought to a Florida Immigration and Customs Enforcement office by a Cuban migrant caused a security guard to fall ill and forced a sudden evacuation of the building Thursday morning, according to authorities. A bag with a "white powdery substance" sent a scare through the facility in Miramar around 7:15 a.m. and led to the migrant's arrest as President Trump and ICE have made frequent headlines for their crackdown on illegal immigration since the Republican took office last month. A flood of local authorities and first responders converged on the office after a security officer came in contact with the package during a regular screening and got sick, Miramar police and ICE told The Post in separate statements.
