ICE Arrests Salvadoran Illegal in Sanctuary City of Boston After Being Released Despite Rape Charge, Deportation Order | 31 Jan 2025 | A Salvadoran national who was charged with rape then released despite being under deportation orders was arrested by federal authorities in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts. On Thursday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the apprehension of 34-year-old Jose Garcia-Salmeron in Boston, a sanctuary city for criminal illegal aliens... In November of 2007, a DOJ judge ordered Garcia-Salmeron removed from U.S., but he apparently never left. In July of 2024, the Salvadoran was arrested by the Revere Police Department and charged with rape in Chelsea District Court. ICE issued a detainer against Garcia-Salmeron, but the court ignored the request and ordered him released on July 26, 2024. ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston caught up with Garcia-Salmeron and took him into custody on Jan. 22. [Thank you, ICE!]
