It was wonderful to have the opportunity to participate in today's press conference. My day started at 6am on Staten Island and was at Tom Kiely's place in downtown Brooklyn by 8am. We picked up Teresa Ward in Sunnyside, Queens and off we were to Mineola, Long Island. And got there by 9:30am in time to introduce ourselves to those setting up with cameras and start in collecting signatures from supporters.
All speakers were great as they articulated the drive and need to reclaim our democracy and not let it fall into complacency, apathy and indifference. Tom held the pulse, tone and effectively communicated how it was not "Scalia" the person but "his lack of professional restraint, bias and partisan decision making that was and is in question and what this protest is all about." He quoted Vincent Bugliosi (paraphrasing), "Scalia speaking at an 'ethics conference' is the equivalent of a prostitute speaking about sexual abstinence".
I will make a copy of the footage I took and perhaps somebody can put it on votermarch's website. Thank you Votermarch for another opportunity to exercise my 1st amendment rights again. I love this stuff!
