Morris Brown President Dr. Kevin James informed the news outlet via email on Monday that there have been no reports of COVID-19 cases on Morris Brown’s campus itself. Among the protocols implemented over the next 14 days: Mask Wearing: All students and employees are required to wear face masks (staff may remove in their offices while alone); Large Gatherings: ...There will be no parties or large student events on campus for the next two weeks; Isolation and Quarantine: Students must adhere to institutional policies and CDC guidelines for isolation and quarantine; Contact Tracing: Compliance with college-initiated contact tracing efforts is expected; Symptom Monitoring: Students and employees are obligated to undergo temperature checks upon campus arrival. The policy change was announced internally by Sommer McElroy, Response Manager for Lionsgate/Starz, in an email, a copy of which was obtained by Deadline. Implemented in response to several employees recently testing positive for Covid, it involves a mandatory mask mandate effective immediately and until further notice for the 3rd and 5th floors of the five-story building, the email said. "Employees must wear a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace," McElroy said in the memo. The water will initially be released in smaller portions and with extra checks, with the first discharge totaling 7,800 cubic meters over about 17 days starting Thursday, TEPCO has said. That water will contain about 190 becquerels of tritium per liter, below the World Health [sic] Organization drinking water limit of 10,000 becquerels per liter, according to TEPCO. A becquerel is a unit of radioactivity.

Controversially, the government will be exempt from the proposed laws, as will professional news outlets, meaning that ACMA will not compel platforms to police misinformation and disinformation disseminated by official government or news sources.

Tracy Marie Fiorenza, 41, has been charged with one federal count of transmitting threats to kill or injure another person in interstate commerce. According to the charges, she emailed the headmaster of a school in Palm Beach County, Florida, in May and June, threatening to kill the former president and his son. "I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity that I get!" she wrote in an email on May 21, according to an affidavit from a Secret Service agent. "I am going to slam a bullet in Baron (sic) Trump's head with his father IN SELF DEFENSE!" she wrote in another email in June.

Four other co-defendants reached bond agreements on Aug. 15, court filings show. Attorney John Eastman's bond was set at 100,000. The bond amount was far lower, at 10,000, for Scott Hall, a bail bondsman who's accused in the case. Attorney Kenneth Chesebro's bond was set at 100,000, and attorney Ray Smith III's bond is 50,000.

In Texas, U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez nixed a provision in state law that required officials to reject mail-in ballots with ID numbers that don't match those on voter registration forms, according to a summary judgment issued on Aug. 17 ...Another provision in Texas law that Judge Rodriguez struck down was a requirement that a mail-in ballot can only be accepted if the ID number on the carrier envelope or signature sheet matches the number on the voter registration application. The court ruled that the provisions, which were adopted in September 2021 as part of Texas Senate Bill 1, violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

[Right, because there were no other apartments or hotels with an elevator available in New York City except for the one owned by a convicted pedophile.]

Nikki Haley Is Hillary 2.0 <https://thefederalist.com/2023/08/18/nikki-haley-is-hillary-2-0/> By Eddie Scarry | 19 Aug 2023 | Nikki Haley has microwaved Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign and made her own all about being a woman, as if Republicans care. Of all the terrible things about Nikki Haley -- her enthusiasm for more foreign war funding, her deference to corporate cultural assault -- the cringe-worthy attempts to hype her status as a woman (A mom! A wife!) and Indian ("I'm a minority first!," "I'm as diverse as it gets!") are the least offensive. But it's still really, really bad. Her whole campaign is Hillary 2.0. Haley currently polls nationally at less than 5 percent, and it’s the same in early Republican primary states Iowa and New Hampshire, so there aren’t a ton of reasons to spend time thinking about her. But it’s truly awe-inspiring that there exist Republicans who still believe there’s anything to gain from the party’s voters by rubbing their faces in identity politics rot.
