Michael Rectenwald responds to a CLG visitor who declares that CLG is "in direct violation of the Congressional Sedition Act of 1918"
Michael Rectenwald's reply --April 4, 2003: Let's not get boggled down in technicalities. After all, if I wanted to know whether or not we were being technically seditious, I wouldn't consult with my local "Contractor." Let's just deal with this on a theoretical basis, if you will. Would you support your country "no matter what" it undertook? I wouldn't. It depends on the action. When the action is illegal and immoral, I would stand up and say, "No, this is wrong. I don't support my country (or its troops) to do this." If more people in Nazi-ruled Germany had done the same, perhaps the atrocities of Hitler could have been at least partly averted. That's where we are today. An illegal War under false pretenses and with pecuniary and sheer geopolitical power motives. Because such actions are by their very definition anti-democratic, anti-egalitarian, and anti-human, they are of necessity anti-American. Likewise, we are the real patriots here. This country never called for blind obeisance to domination. And for me and mine, it never will. Now, go back to work and be a good little corporate drone.
Letter CLG received --April 4, 2003: Subject: SHAME You people who circulate
this "material" are in direct violation of the Congressional
Sedition Act of 1918 and are subject to full punishments described therein.
In my opinion you are traitors and should be treated as such. You are
not for this great nation. You are subversives, so move somewhere else.
The sooner, the better for Americans who will not stand for attacks
on our soil by terrorists, internal or from the terrorist countries
that you support. TRAITORS!!! gbg
