Florida State Employees Protest/Unions
protest against Jeb Bush

I attended the Florida State Employees Protest/Unions protest against Jeb Bush in Tallahassee Florida, today. Our "Rally in Tally"! No one could deter the hundreds of Floridians who came to protest the "other" Bush. The one who helped STEAL the presidential election from Gore. And now Jeb is trying to take jobs away from dedicated, hardworking State employees. By car and by bus, the Florida State employees came. I stopped counting the number of busses and car caravans. There were so many! From Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and all points in between. Hundreds dressed in green T-shirts saying "State Workers Do It Better......and For Less"! There were State Employees, Union members, Florida Democrat leaders, Representatives of Civil Rights and Woman Organizations, etc., etc. AFSCME President Gerald McEntee and AFL-CIO President John Sweeney gave compelling speeches in front of the Tallahassee Capitol steps. McEntee emphasized that the Bush brothers had "declared war on working families in Florida and across America". Various State Democrat Representatives also spoke. Multiple news media were in attendance. I was told by friends in Miami, that the Bush Protest was covered during both the 12:00 noon and 5:00 P.M. news on T.V. stations CBS affiliate channel 4 and NBC affiliate Channel 6. It was also shown on Spanish T.V. - Channel 23 (Univision) in Miami. The protest was peaceful and without incident. Floridians of every color, nationality, and creed were in attendance. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been proud. The Jeb Bush supporters were VERY few in number at the Tallahassee Capitol steps, almost nil! And the few that did show-up, slithered away, once they saw our crowd swell. In fact, Jeb Bush and his fellow Republicans were NO WHERE IN SIGHT!

The crowd was "fired-up" to say the least! From age 22 to 62!! We clapped, chanted, sang, and shouted our support for what we felt was right and just.

I was there for Al Gore/Joe Lieberman when they came to Miami Beach. I was there for Rev. Jesse Jackson when he came to West Palm Beach to ask that "Every Vote be Counted". And now I was there for my fellow Floridians.

EVERY JOB MATTERS! EVERY STATE EMPLOYEE COUNTS! GO FLORIDA WORKERS! SO LONG JEB BUSH FOR YOU WON'T BE AROUND IN 2002!
