Intense manhunt waged for ex-cop wanted in 3 murders --Former officer issues manifesto threatening to kill families of LAPD officials in retaliation for his dismissal from the force 07 Feb 2013 Police are waging an intensive manhunt across Southern California for a former Los Angeles cop wanted in connection with a double murder and suspected of going on a revenge shooting spree. Overnight shootings in Riverside County that left one officer dead and two wounded have been linked to the former Los Angeles officer, Christopher Dorner, who was named as a suspect in the slaying of a young couple here Sunday. Across Southern California, digital traffic signs carried alerts urging motorists to report any sight of Dorner, believed to be driving a Nissan Titan pickup truck and considered armed and dangerous.

From Dorner's "manifesto" line 12:
"The consent decree should never have been lifted. The only thing that has evolved from the consent decree is those officers involved in the Rampart scandal and Rodney King incidents have since promoted to supervisor, commanders, and command staff, and executive positions."
Dorner's views on gun control, line 134
"If you had a well regulated AWB (assault weapons ban, I presume), this would not happen. The time is now to reinstitute a ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle? This is the same small arms weapons system utilized in eradicating Al Qaeda, Taliban, and every enemy combatant since the Vietnam war."
Praise for certain politicians, line 138
"Sen. Feinstein, you are doing the right thing in leading the re-institution of a national AWB."
One might surmise that this "manifesto" is calculated to provoke an over-reaction by the LAPD, resulting in the imposition of Federal authority, perhaps? Oh, and confiscation of lots of weapons from the populace, let's not forget that.

Raw Story reports:
"Police have swarmed through the ski resorts of Big Bear after reportedly finding a BURNING (!!!) pick-up truck belonging to the former colleague who has terrorised southern California’s police in a bloody vendetta." (Here I am - over here!)
From Dorner's lengthy "manifesto" (pastebin.com/TAzPRfPy) at line 52 there is this tidbit:
"The LAPD’s actions have cost me my law enforcement career that began on 2/7/05 and ended on 1/2/09. They cost me my Naval career which started on 4/02 and ends on 2/13." Sounds like Dorner WAS EMPLOYED BY THE NAVY when this was posted.
